Any cannabis consumer knows weed brings on observations. Whether you’re watching a TV show by yourself or at a concert around thousands, your brain will flow with thoughts about your surroundings. Mike Cannon is a NYC comedian who has mixed this experience with stand-up in his new special called Mike Cannon’s Huge Mistake. His third independently produced special features Mike doing an hour of crowd work on 150 milligrams of legal weed edibles. This is a can’t miss crowd work comedy special for every comedy fan and may turn out to be one of the best specials of the year.

Mike Cannon is a staple in the New York City comedy scene, regularly performing at the Comedy Cellar and New York Comedy Club. His debut comedy special entitled LIFE BEGINS was independently produced and released in January 2020 on YouTube, earning a spot on Laugh Button’s Top 35 Comedy Specials of 2020, Interrobang’s Top 11 Albums of 2020, and Sirius/XM Raw Dog Radio’s Top 10 Comedy Albums of 2020. He followed that up with releasing his second independently produced comedy special entitled White Privilege Homeless in May of 2022, receiving almost 100,000 views in three months.

Aside from podcasting, he also hosts two digital series called Heads Up with Mike Cannon and Mike Takes Edibles.

Mike Cannon’s Huge Mistake is a hilarious hour of crowd work comedy filmed at the New York Comedy Club in New York City. This is Mike’s first crowd work special, showcasing him hilariously engaging with the audience. The 150 milligrams of edibles he took definitely impacted the special for good and assisted in purely spontaneous comedy. Mike went onstage without any jokes or plans and makes some hilarious jokes as he interacts with the crowd such as poking fun at someone who looked like a “gentrified smurf”. Another unique and innovative aspect of the special we found to be most compelling, is that he fielded topics and questions from the audience as comedic fuel to discuss.
