Since CrowdUltra is focused on connecting crowds to bring everyone closer together, they’ve formed the CrowdUltra Awards to celebrate the best of all things with a crowd. For those who don’t know, CrowdUltra is part free all-in-one event and audience interaction app, part ticketing platform, and part social network. The CrowdUltra Awards features over 100 categories among segments they provide value to including events, podcasting, event talent, and event planning.

After receiving over a thousand nominations, they narrowed down the top five finance speaker nominees. These finance speakers stood out among the rest and should be celebrated for the quality of their work. Those selected were determined by a mix of submitted nominations along with our expert panel’s assessment on a multitude of considerations including quality, community, and uniqueness. Andrew Lo
Description:
Andrew W. Lo is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor, a Professor of Finance, and the Director of the Laboratory for Financial Engineering at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to MIT Sloan, he taught at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School as the W.P. Carey Assistant Professor of Finance from 1984 to 1987, and as the W.P. Carey Associate Professor of Finance from 1987 to 1988. Lo has published numerous articles in finance and economics journals. He is a co-author of The Econometrics of Financial Markets and A Non-Random Walk Down Wall Street, and is the author of Hedge Funds: An Analytic Perspective. His awards include the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, the Paul A. Samuelson Award, the American Association for Individual Investors Award, the Graham and Dodd Award, the 2001 IAFE-SunGard Financial Engineer of the Year award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the CFA Institute’s James R. Vertin Award, and awards for teaching excellence from both the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and MIT Sloan.

Description:

Eugene Fama
Description:
Eugene F. Fama is widely recognized as the "father of modern finance." He is the joint recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economic Science. He is a prolific author and researcher, having written two books and published more than 100 articles in academic journals. Fama was the first recipient of three major prizes for research in Finance; the Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics, 2005, the Morgan Stanley American Finance Association Award for Excellence in Finance, 2007, and the Onassis Prize in Finance, 2009. Fama is also chairman of the Center for Research in Security Prices at Chicago Booth, which was founded 40 years ago to create the finest tools for tracking, measuring, and analyzing securities data. He is Director and Consultant to Dimensional Fund Advisors, Inc. an investment advising firm with more than $251 billion under management.




Jim Rogers
Description:
Jim Rogers is an author, financial commentator, adventurer, and successful international investor. Rogers co-founded the Quantum Fund, a global-investment partnership. During the next 10 years, the portfolio gained 4200%, while the S&P rose less than 50%. He has been frequently featured in Time, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Barron’s, Forbes, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Business Times, The Straits Times and many media outlets worldwide. He has also appeared as a regular commentator and columnist in various media and has been a professor at Columbia University.
